BRIDGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION WASHED AWAY
Kathmandu, 12 June: Flood triggered by incessant rain has swept away an under-construction bridge on the Maldhunga-Beni road section here, RSS reports from Parbat.
The under-construction bridge over the Lastikhola stream between Nanglibang and Dhairing VDCs has been swept away causing a damage worth over seven million rupees, it is learnt.
Fifty per cent works on the bridge had been completed. The Department of Roads is undertaking the construction of the bridge with a total estimated cost of Rs 13 million.
The Lastikhola stream has overflowed flooding the cultivated farmland near its banks, The flood also damaged the water supply to Nanglibang-9.
