CHAIRMAN KHANAL, CHINESE AMBASSADOR MEET Kathmandu, 18 June: Chinese Ambassador Wu Chuntai held discussions with UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal who has been invited to visit China. Ambassador Wu reviewed Nepal’s current political situation with Khanal and urged political stability in Nepal. “Expressing satisfaction of Chinese government on the announcement of new election date, Chinese ambassador said China welcomes the decision. He said he is optimistic that the decision will help bring stability in Nepal,” Khanal aide Milan Tuladhar said. nnnn 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL RAPED IN SIRAHA Kathmandu, 18 June : A 13-year-old girl has become the latest victim of rape at Chikana Village Development Committee (VDC) in Siraha district, RSS reports from Siraha.. Police have arrested Suresh Yadav, 33, of the same place on the charge of raping the girl while she was working alone in the field on Monday evening. The crime came to light after the girl informed her parents of the incident. The girl´s parents then reported the incident to the Area Police Office, Kalyanpur. The accused Suiresh is said to be absconding after the incident and police have started a search for him. The girl has been taken to the District Hospital Siraha for medical check-up. nnnn
