CHAIRMAN KHANAL, JAPANEESE AMBASSADOT MEET Kathmandu, 28 June:: Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Kunio Takahashi on Friday called on former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal at the latter's residence in Dallu, RSS reports.. During the meeting, the two discussed matters relating to Nepal's upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election, latest political situation in the country and Nepal-Japan relations and bilateral cooperation, among others. On the occasion, the former PM Khanal said he is hopeful of timely election and added talks were underway with the dissenting political parties to bring them into the election process. The Japanese Ambassador on the occasion welcomed the announcement of date for the CA election in Nepal and said the Japanese government is ready to extend all necessary supports to that end, according to Khanal's personal aide Rambabu Adhikari. Nnnn NEPALI TABLE TENNIS TEAM LEAVES TO PARTICIPATE IN 21ST ASIAN TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP Kathmandu, 28 June:: An eight-member team of Nepali Table Tennis players left here for Busan, Korea to take part in the 21st Asian Table Tennis Championship to be held from June 30 to July 7, RSS reports.. The players representing Nepal in the regional event are Shiva Sundar Gothe, Dip Saud, Ranjit Rayamajhi and Binesh Khaniya in the men's category and Selisa Khadgi, Kajol Rauniyar, Manita Chitrakar and Sunita Lama are competing in the women's category. The players are accompanied by General Secretary of Nepal Table Tennis Association Kuber Prakar Singh, Coach Sandhya Shakya and official Tejendra Singh Mahara. nnnn
