CHINA HOPES ELECTION WILL BE SMOOTH
Kathmandu, 15 June: China hoped the announced constituent assembly 19 November will be ‘smooth’.
“As a friendly neighbor, China supports the constitution-making process in Nepal and hopes that the election to the Constitutional Assembly will be held in a
smooth way,” said Spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry on
Friday.
The reaction came as 42 parties oppose the vote.

Kathmandu, 15 June: Chairman of the Unified CPN (Maoist), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has claimed that his party would garner two thirds majority in the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election, RSS reports from Chitwan..
Inaugurating the Fourth National Convention of the All Nepal Teachers Association in Chitwan on Saturday he said that though various conspiracies were plotted not to hold CA election scheduled to be on November 19, no force would be able to disrupt the election.
During the programme, Vice-Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) and former Prime Minister, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, claimed that the first CA had failed to promulgate constitution due to the plotting by the status quo forces.
Another Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha said that his party was committed to addressing the problems faced by the teachers and the education sector.
Party spokesperson Agni Sapkota, politburo member Amik Sherchan, president of All Nepal Independent Students Union Himal Sharma also expressed their views on the occasion.
The convention will elect a new leadership of the organization for the next five years. Discussions will be held in the convention on reforming the education policy and the education movement.
More than one thousand representatives and observers are participating in the convention, according to Tulasi Prasad Ghimire, Coordinator of the Convention.
