CPN MAOIST SECRETARY GURUNG SAYS CONSENSUS POSSIBLE Kathmandu, 27 June: - CPN-Maoist Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung has said it is possible to forge consensus by holding dialogue with all political parties on contentious issues including the Constituent Assembly election, RSS reports from Ilam,. Inaugurating the fifth district assembly of Tamu Students Chhoja Dhi, Ilam on Thursday, Secretary Gurung said it would be appropriate to move ahead by sorting out the contentious issues rather than bringing the country to a crisis by orchestrating a drama of election. The Interim Constitution of the country has been defunct due to the President and top leaders of four political parties, he said, adding that it would be advantageous to all if all the parties moved ahead by activating the constitution. The country will also not bear financial burden when this idea is adopted, Gurung added. The previous Constituent Assembly (CA) had accomplished 90 per cent of the work of constitution drafting and rest 10 per cent should be completed by reinstating the erstwhile CA. Tamu Chhoja Di District Chairperson Anil Tamu presided over the programme. RSS nnnn
