LEADERS URGE ENVIRONMENT FOR VOTE Kathmandu, 4 June: Leaders of different political parties have stressed that none of the political parties should create obstacles in holding election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) within mid-December this year, RSS reports.. Stating that consensus should be forged among the political parties by holding talks and discussions, they said that the next CA election should be made free and fair. At a programme organised by the Sambad Club here today, Standing Committee member of the UCPN-Maoist, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, said that the incumbent government was formed in a situation of compulsion and added that there would be no meaning of the government if CA election was foiled under different pretexts. Rayamajhi said the issue of threshold should not be made the issue of contention, as there was no alternative to CA election at present. Stating that the country is in problem as the major political parties have no clear vision for steering the country forward, he mentioned that most of the political parties have a tendency of not accepting the issues brought about by the change. Similarly, Nepali Congress leader, Dr. Narayan Khadka, said there was no other alternative to the incumbent election government and it was indispensible. Khadka added that declaring the date of CA election is being delayed as consensus was not forged among the political parties. Noting that all types of problems would be resolved through talks, he said they were ready to hold talks with the CPN-Maoist if it wanted to hold talks among political parties through a round table conference. Politburo Member of the CPN-Maoist, Hari Bhakta Kandel, said that an all-party government should be formed immediately by dissolving the incumbent election government. Kandel said his party is ready to hold talks with other parties through a round table conference for reaching a result-oriented conclusion. nnnn
