NEPAL BANDS CRIPPLES LIFE NATION-WIDE Kathmandu, 16 June: Forty-two parties, including CPN Maoist, Sunday enforced a Nepal bandh opposing the declaration of second constituent assembly elections 19 November. The bandh [strike] has affected the capital and the rest of the country. The parties say the election was announced Thursday by government and on Indian government pressure . They said the government of Khil Raj Regmi was installed illegally and unilaterally defying opposition for prior consultations. The parties tsay the demand for consultations were ignored by the government which is an appendage of a four-member political mechanism directing the Regmi government. The parties are also abrogation of the 11-point agreement and 25 -point to amend an interim constitution.. Opposition held corner meetings nation-wide against elections. MORE
