RESIDENTS OF KHALANGA TERRORIZED BY MAJAKALI UPDATE
Kathmaandu, 17 June: Residents of Khalangaa in Darchula have been
terrorized by the rising Makakali river dividing India and the far-West hill
district as nearly three dozen government offices and three dozen houses
were washed away by river that entered the town.
The water entered after two days on continuous rain amid indications Monday rain will continue.
The river flow was the highest in four years—440,316 cusecs.
India opened all sluices of the river downstream.
Dozens of families have been moved to higher ground for shelter in schools and houses of relatives.

FORMER KING IN HETAUDA UPDATE
Kathmandu, 17June: Former Kung Gyanendra prayed and worshipped
at a gumba and two temples in the central industrial town of Hetauda
Monday.
He visits Gaur Tuesday on a pilgrimage.
