TWO COLOURED GAS CYLINDERS FROM 15 JUNE
Kathmandu, 10 June: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has completed all preparations to sell the two-colored LP gas cylinders
from June 15, RSS reports..
Spokesperson at the NOC Shiva Prasad Pudasaini said so far 500,000 gas cards have been verified and 286,000 new gas cards have been sent in the market.
However, Chair of Federation of Nepal Gas Retailers Gyaneshwor Aryal said that the consumers should not be forced to purchase the green cylinders but they should be given the green cylinders if they bring red ones.
Chairman of LP Gas Industries Association Shiva Prasad Ghimire claimed that victims should get compensation from the insurance companies if property damage and human casualties were reported in the cylinder explosions due to problems in the cylinders.
He said different companies have prepared 200 to 2,000 green cylinders and they would be brought in the market from June 15.

RAUTAHAT SCHOOLS CLOSED
Katmandu, 10 June : The government-run schools in Rautahat have been closed for the next five days due to a strike announced by the teachers appointed under the Per Child Fund (PCF), Monday, RSS reports from Gaur..
The agitating PCF teachers, who had put forth a charter of eight-point demands, have announced the closure of schools beginning Monday. Around 300,000 children have been forced to stay at home.
Remuneration as per teacher, removal of age-limit for PCF teachers in the Teachers´ Service Commission and management of insurance of PCF teachers are among other demands put forth by the PCF Teachers Struggle Committee. PCF teachers across the country have been staging a sit-in protest in front of the respective district education offices since May 28 with a view to exerting pressure on the government to address their demand.
