VICE-PRESIDENT JHA LEAVING FOR CHINA TUESDAY
Kathmandu, 4 June: Vice-president Parmananda Jha leaves for China
Tuesday.
He’ll participate in the first China-South Asia Exposition in Kunming,
un central China.
He’ll visit Beijing for high-level talks with Chinese leader before
returning home 9 June.
A business delegation is accompanying Jha.

KAMALIYAS CLOSE DOWN 22 TERAI DISTRICTS
Kathmandu, 4 June: Kamalaris and organizations supporting the former Tharu child workers closed 22 Terai districts Tuesday protesting excesses against them during protests in the capital and Dang where Monday nearly 5o were injured when police attempted to break up a sit-in.
The former child workers will resume a sit-in in front of Singha Durbar
from where they were forcibly dispersed.
The terai shutdown has disrupted normal life in the districts.

BHOTO JATRA FRIDAY
Kathmandu, 4 June: Rato Machinaranath chariot is being towed to its
final destination at Jawalakhel from Thati tole in Patan Monday.
Bhoto jatra is on Friday.
The country’s longest festival that began two months from Pulchowk
ends with the bhoto or vest display..
The original vest has been smuggled out of the country and is on disp;ay
at a Los Angeles museum.
Government has made no effort to get it back.

NC STUDENTS TO STAGE SIT-IN IN FRONT OF TU
VICE-CHANCELLOR OFFICE
Kathmandu, Nepal Students’ Union, a student owing of NC, is staging a sit-in in front of the TU vice-chancellor’s office Tuesday.
The union is demanding udefinitelypostponed elections to students unions in all TU campuses nation-wide.

ONE KILLD, 10 INJURED IN BUS ACCIDENT
Kathmandu, 4 June: On person was killed and 10 others were injured when a bus hit a stationary vehicle in Sarlahi Tuesday morning.
The bus was heading for a central hill ditrict from the capital.
