NAC ADVANCES PAYMENT FOR TWO AIRBUSES
Kathmandu, 16 July: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) Monday
paid Airbus a pre-delivery payment of $14.7 million for delivery of
two narrow=bodies Airbuses  after initial hitches in advancing payment to
the European manufacturer of the aircraft.
NAC got a loan from Employees Provident Fund for the purchase.
There was delay in converting the loan at Nepal Rashtra Bank to
convertible currency.

EFFORT TO CURB IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE
Kathmandu, 16 July: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
and Nepal Monday signed an agreement to implement the
Community Based Flood and Glacial Lake Outburst Risk Reduction
Project (CBFGLOF) to minimize threats from climate change to
nearly 100‚000 people.

Director General of Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM‚ Rishi Ram Sharma and UNDP’s Deputy Country Director (Programme) Jorn Sorensen signed the agreement..

CBFGLOF is a joint initiative of Nepal government and UNDP.
The porgramme will benefit an estimated 96‚ 562 members of
climate change vulnerable communities.
