ARMY CHIEF LEAVES FOR CHINA

Kathmandu, 19 July: Army Chief Gem Gaurav SJB Rama left for China as
the head of a five-member delegation to enhance military ties between armies of the two countries.
Lieutenant General Netra Bahadur Thapa will look after the army headquarters in absence of General Rana, cofirning he’s ranked number two in the state army...
Director General of Military Operations Pawan Bahadur Pandey and
Brigadier General Dr. Bacchuram K.C are in the team..

The delegation will return 28 July..
Talks are being held on military cooperation with his Chinese
counterpart,
A protocol is also being signed for establishment of two mobile hospitals.

GOLD GAINS RS.500 PER TOLA
Kathmandu, 19 July: Price of gold has slightly gone up on Firday in Nepali market as compared to yesterday, RSS reports..

The gold piece has increased by Rs. 550 per tola and reached Rs. 51,400 per tola today. It was traded at Rs. 50,850 on Thursday, according to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (NEGOSIDA).

The NEGOSIDA has fixed the price of worked gold at Rs. 51,150 per tola t. It was Rs. 50,600 on Thursday.

Similarly, price of silver has increased by five rupees today as compared to Thursday and traded at Rs. 815. The price of yellow metal is increased in Nepali market due to impact of price increased in the international markets, said Chairman of NEGOSIDA, Mani Ratna Shakya.

BRITISH ASSISTANCE FOR ARMY

Kathmandu, 19 July:British Ambassador Andy Sparkes Friday gifted
water filtration equipment worth £22,000 to the Nepal Army’s Directorate of Disaster Reduction and Resilience to enhance Nepal’s disaster management
capacity.

Ambassador Sparkes praised the relations between the British
and Nepali armed forces and handed over 115 Lifesaver jerry cans and 99 Lifesaver water bottles to Brigadier General Tajman Singh Basnyat, Director
General for Development and Security.
