WORLD BANK LOAN
Kathmandu, 31 July: The
International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank (WB) has agreed
to provide Rs 2.90 billion credit assistance to the Government of Nepal, RSS

At a programme organised at the Ministry of Finance, Singha Durbar, today, Secretary at the Finance Ministry, Shanta Raj Subedi and World Bank Country Manager for Nepal, Tahseen Sayed, signed the agreement.
The main objective of the loan assistance is to avail budgetary support to the Government of Nepal to help carry out already initiated reform activities for financial sector development.
The Government of Nepal has already embarked on the broader reform programme to address financial sector vulnerabilities during the mid 2011. In this course, Nepal Rastra Bank has initiated financial inclusion and financial literacy programme in consultation and cooperation with stakeholders.
On the occasion, Tahseen appraised the initiatives taken by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) to reform financial sector. He also lauded the role played by the Government of Nepal to maintain financial discipline as well as establishment of Department of Money Laundering.

SUSPECTED INDIAN PILGRIM FOUND DEADKathmandu, 31 July: A body of an Indian national was found at the premises of a famous temple, Chhangchhangdi Chhanya Chhetra, at Chhangchhangdi-3 in Syangja district on Wednesday morning, RSS reports from Syangjha.
According to Hari Krishna KC, Police Inspector at the Ward Police Office, Waling, the deceased appeared to be in his 60s.
Locals informed police after they saw the body at the resting place of the temple premises.
Investigation into the case is underway as the identity of the Indian national has not been ascertained yet. The body has been kept at the mortuary of Waling Primary Health Centre, said police.
Police suspect that the deceased might be a pilgrim, who came to visit the temple.
