UPDATE CPN MAOIST TO BOYCOTT 19 NOV. ASSEMBLY POLLS
Kathmandu, 2 July: The
country is heading towards confrontational politics
with the formal decision in Pokhara by CPN Maoist central
committee to
boycott the 19 November second constituent assembly elections.
The committee unanimously approved the proposal of Chairman
Mohan
Baidhaya after a four-day meet, Spokesperson Phampa Bhisal
said as the
end of the four-day conclave.
The meeting also approved a struggle report of General
Secretary Ram
Bahadur Thapa
The party decided to mobilize all forces and resources to disrupt
the
vote.
Many believe a vote can’t be held and it shouldn’t be
conducted
with the CPN Maoist decision to stay away from the vote as
the
Maoist faction has the support of other parties and is a
major political force.

Kathmandu, 2 July: The
Foreign ministry said TuesdAy Afghanistan and
Iraq
are out of bounds for Nepali workers amid media reports four
Nepali guards at a NATO
base in Kabul
were killed by Taliban.
The ministry said it had no comments and has not received report
from the Nepali embassy in Pakistan.
The embassy in the Pakistan looks after Nepali
interests in neighbouring
Afghanistan.

DARCHULA HOSPITAL ON THE STREET IN KHALANGA
Kathmandu, 2 July: The
district hospital in Darchula is operating by setting up tents on
the street in headquarters Khalanga..
It is also working out of private homes..
The district hospital was washed away by the turbulent
Mahakali river—
a common river separating India
and Nepal.
Meanwhile, residents shut down Rajapur in Bardiya Tuesday
following
clashes with police the previous day.
Victims of flooded
Karnali river forced the closure saying charging
irregularities in distribution of relief material.
