DETAILS OF ARMY CHIEF’S CHINA VISIT
Kathmandu, 18 July: Army Chief Gen. Rana
will hold discussions  with senior officials including including Deputy
Chairman of Central Military Commission Air Chief Marshal Xu Qiliang, Chief of the General Staff of PLA and General Fang Fenghui, Shaanxi Military Region,
Nanjing Military Region.

He will visit the first hospital affiliated to fourth military medical
university, command and Staff College, Nanjing army Command College
and Yunnan military region..

China is due to provide two mobile hospitals for the Nepali Army (NA),.

JHAPA FLOOD LOSS RS.100 MILLION
Kathmandu, 18 July:: Property worth over Rs 100 million was damaged in the monsoon floods in Jhapa district last week, RSS reports..

The officials estimated the loss as roads, bridges and other physical infrastructures were heavily damaged due the monsoon flooding.

Four persons were killed while over 60 families of the southern belt of the district were directly affected due to the flood in the district.

A government monitoring team led by Joint Secretary of Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management Gopal Sigdel concluded that Jhapa district was worst hit due to the flood in the eastern region.

Sigdel said the 15 number branch of Kankai Canal at Dhyangri in Topgachhi suffered damage over Rs 40 million in the district.

The government team has collected the details of damages in Morang, Sunsari and Saptari districts.

ELECTION CHIEF HOLDS DISCUSSIONS WITH US AMBASSADOR
Kathmandu, 18 July: US Ambassador to Nepal Peter W Bodde called on Chief Election Commissioner Nilkantha Upreti at the latter's office on Thursday, RSS reports..

During the meeting, matters relating to possible US support to the upcoming CA elections in Nepal were discussed, according to Election Commission Spokesperson Bir Bahadur Rai.

Election Commissioner Dr Ram Bhakta PV Thakur and US Embassy officials were also present on the occasion.
