EELECTIONEERING GAINS MOMENTUM IN JHAPA

: The preparation of the Constituent Assembly (CA) election to be held on
November 19 is gaining momentum in Jhapa district, RSS reports from Jhapa..
The District Election Office Jhapa has concluded the collection of biometric voters list and is being verified and publication of voters list is gaining momentum, said District Election Office, Jhapa.
VDC Secretaries in VDCs and Ward Secretaries in municipalities have been fixed as name registration officers.
The office is in preparation of investigation on names and removing dual names, shifting and correcting mistakes for publication of voters´ name list, said District Election Office Jhapa Chief Gopal Acharya.
The election commission has fixed 94 people as assistant name registration officers in the 47 VDCs and three municipalities of the district.
In Jhapa, there is less voters by 175,661 voters as compared to the CA election of 2064 BS.
In the first CA, there were 5,629, 627 voters in the seven constituencies and in six-year gap, it has come to down to 453, 966 instead of being increased, the office said.

SALYAN RESIDENTS SEEK ASSISTANCE FOR FORMER PM MARCH

July: People of Salyan district have requested for providing necessary
financial cooperation for the treatment of former Prime Minister Marichman
Singh Shrestha from the Government of Nepal.
Shrestha is undergoing treatment at Medant Hospital, New Delhi in India after suffering from cancer of the lung. Former state minister from NC, Rajendra Bahadur Shah living in Kathmandu, former Ambassador Dr. Rishiraj Adhikari, DDC Salyan, RPP Nepal Central Member Manoj Kumar Pradhan, NC Salyan Kathmandu Liaison Committee Chairman Samir Shah, Salyani Sewa Samaj Ex-Chairman Manohar Lamichhane, Ex-MP Ekraj Bhandari, RPP-Nepal Salyan-Kathmandu Liaison Society Chairman Jiwan Kumar Rawat, UCPN-Maoist former MP Umakant Sharma, CPN-UML´s National Council Member, Gulabjung Shah, UCPN-Maoist Salyan-Kathmandu Republican Forum´s Ganga DC, CPN-UML Salyan-Kathmandu Liaison Forum Chairman Santosh Bista, CPN-Maoist Salyan-Kathmandu People´s Liaison Forum Chairman Amar Budhathoki have requested for government help for his treatment. |

BP KOIRALA
MEMORIAL CANCER
HOSPITAL EXTENDING
NETWORK

July: The BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital is going to establish its
three other branches in major cities of the country, RSS reports from
Chitwan..
Hospital´s Executive Director Dr Laxmi Narayan Singh said such movewas taken to deliver services to the patients at the local level as the patients from across the country were facing difficulties to visit Chitwan for the treatment. A meeting of the hospital´s Board of Directors (BoD) decided to establish branches in Nepalgunj, Dharan and Patan. Singh said that the hospital was carrying out feasibility study to expand the services in Kathmandu, Janakpur, Pokhara and other cities as well. Currently, patients from across the country and India are also visiting the BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital for cancer treatment. In a bid to make an exemplary hospital in South Asia, the hospital is installing new equipments soon. The hospital is brining CT Scam PET with high-tech equipment nuclear medicine used to test the level of cancer in the human body. Numbers of patients are visiting abroad to the cancer treatment due to lack of the same equipment so far. Dr Singh said treatment of cancer would be easier after brining in the equipment. According to Singh, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav was taken to Japan for treatment due to lack of the same machine. |
