RAIN HAVOC IN MORANG, SOLU

Kathmandu, 11 July: As many as 1,200 households have been affected by the incessant rainfall from Tuesday in Morang district, according to the District Police Office, Morang, RSS reports from Biratnagar and Solokhumbu.

Six hundred and fifty four houses have been affected by Keshaliya rivulet at Biratnagar Sub-Metropolitan City.

Similarly, floods in the rivulet have inundated 200 houses at Brahmapura and 190 houses in Bakhari as well as 100 houses at Ward No. 2 and 9 of Tankisinbari VDC.

Likewise, floods in Bakraha rivulet following the rainfall of the same day have destroyed 400 houses at Ward No. 1 and 2 of Kadmaha VDC.
Floods in Ratuwa rivulet have eroded 25 bighas of land at Mahadeva-1.



SOLU
Eleven houses at different places in Solukhumbu district have been buried by landslides triggered by incessant rainfall for the past one week.

According to police, six houses have been buried in land slides at Gudel.

Landslides following the incessant rainfall washed away houses of Mitra Kumar Rai, Pramod Jwalan Kulung, Jung Kulung, Devi Kulung, Dilip Kulung and Buddhibir Kulung of Gudel-6 on Wednesday.

Similarly, cowshed of Dhan Prasad Khaling of Gudel was also washed away, said DB Kulung, a local.

No human casualty has been reported in the incidents. The landslides also destroyed the drinking water project and water supply in the village has been obstructed.

Likewise, the landslides have also washed away five houses at Bung VDC-9 on Wednesday afternoon.

Houses including that of Lakpi Sherpa, Angchhiring Sherpa and Rudra Kulung were also washed away by floods.
