KIDNAPPED BOY FREED
Kathmandu, 23 July: Bishnsu Shah was freed by Indian and
Nepali police from a house across the border in Bihar.
Shah was bundled into a van and kidnapped from Biratnagar
from a student hostel.
The driver has been arrested.
Two others are absconding.

TWO DROWN IN RAPTI, BANKE
Kathmandu, 23 July: Two
persons drowned in Rapti river in Banke Tuesday..
Dozens of houses have been inundated in villages in the
district.
Floods and landslide have been creating havoc nation-wide.

SPOKESMAN SAYS ELECTION WILL BE HELD

Government Spokesman and Communication
Minister Madhav Paudel said Tuesday ‘significant progress
has been
made’ in .preparing for the 19 November elections.
“Much work has been done.Environment has been crated.
“People are confident vote will ne held,” he told reporters..
“Election has to be held 19 November.Election should be held
and will be
held,” Paudel added.

DONORS EXPLAIN POSITION
Kathmandu, 23 July: Donors say contributions are for timely elections.
"Nepal’s development partners appreciate efforts to convene
representatives of all political parties to reach agreement
on the final parameters of free and fair elections that will lead to an
inclusive Constituent Assembly,"
said United Nations Resident Coordinator, Terence D. Jones
on behalf of development partners Tuesday in a press statement.

Elections Commission of
Nepal
are designed to help ensure that the polls are held on time and are
credible and inclusive," he explained amid protests
from opposition for interfering in Nepal’s internal affairs.
