SUSHIL KOIRALA ACCUSES PRACHANDA OF ATTEMPTED INCITEMENT
Kathmandu, 16 July: NC President
Sushil Koirala held discuss on
current issues Tuesday with Chinese Ambassador Wu Chuntai.
They reviewed current political issues, elections,
opposition tit he vote and related issues.
The envoy extended support for the vote.
The NC chief received a memorandum from a delegation of
Adivashis and Janajatic pressing their demands one day after Maoist Chairman
Prachanda asked them to come out of the streets tipush demands.
Koirala accused the Maoist chief of attempting to smear the election
through incitement.
RSS adds: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Wu Chuntai, called on Nepali Congress
President, Sushil Koirala, at the latter´s residence at Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they discussed the contemporary political situation and the forthcoming CA election.
On the occasion, Chuntai acquired information about Koirala´s health, said Koirala´s personal aide Laxman Dhakal. In reply, Koirala said that he was in good health.
The Nepali Congress president stressed that the election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) should be held in the stipulated date as election is only the alternative to find an outlet from the existing political problems.
Ambassador Chuntai said that China was always ready to provide support to make the election a success.

FIRE ENGULFS SOLU RESORT

July: A huge fire has broken out at the Yeti Mountain Resort at Fakding,
Chaurikharka VDC-9, in Sulukhumbu district since Tuesday

The resort, operated by Thamserku Trekking Office, caught fire at around 8:30, said Indrahang Rai, a local. The fire had already engulfed the kitchen, dining room, stores, and the staff-room. Five police personnel from the Area Police Office, Chaurikharka, seven Airport Security Guards and Nepal Army personnel from Sagarmatha National Park were airlifted to bring the blazing fire under control, according to police. It is suspected that the resort caught fire after the LP Gas cylinder exploded while preparing meal.The Trekking Office has been running different seven resorts in Lukla, Fakdin, Manju, Namche, Thame, and Kongde in the district. |
