EIGHT TOP ARMY OFFICERS RETIRED WITHOUT HEARING

THEIR COMPLAINTS

Kathmandu, 5 July: Eight top Nepal Army officers were retired Thursday

as a supreme court bench was hearing complaints they weren’t promoted.

The promotion of 16 lieutenant colonels to full colonels was

challenged at the supreme court.

A bench of justices Girish Chandra Lal Baidhayanath Upadhayaa and Bharat Bahadur Karki was conducting a hearing Thursday on the petitions of eight

lieutenant colonels who were retired Thursday without completing a

hearing.

The lieutenant colonels claimed their seniority and training weren’t

considered for promotions

CHURA BAHADUR THAPA CHOSEN  FOR HONG KONG AWARD

Kathmandu, 5 July: Chura Bahaduir Thapa has been awarded Hong 

Kong’s  Chief Executive Commendation for Community Service for

continuous social work.

Thapa has been living in the island for 17 years and he was among 51 persons awarded.
