PHASED PROTESTS BY FLOOD VICTIMS IN KALIKOT

Kathmandu, 7 July: Flood victims of Shannighad of Kalikot district have announced a phase wise protest programme putting forth a 10-point demand, RSS reports from Kalikot.

As per the programme, the flood victims staged two-hour long sit-in from 10:00 am at the District Administration Office, Kalikot on Sunday.

Similarly, they have planned to enforce a district bandh and indefinite strike in the district if their demands were ignored, said Chairman of the Flood Victims Struggle Committee, Brikh Bahadur Shahi.

They have demanded that the government manage free treatment service to the injured, declare the missing as dead, manage compensation to the displaced and collect details of property lost in the floods, among others.

The floods on June 16 killed as many as 13 persons in Choktebagar and Dangsile Bazaar in the border of Mehalmudi and Sipkhana VDCs in the district.

TRADE BALANCE IN BHUTANS FAVOUR

Kathmandu, 7 July: Nepal has seen trade deficit with an import of more goods from Bhutan as compared to last year during the 11-months of current fiscal
year, RSS reports from Bhadrapur..

Nepal exported goods worth Rs. 36 million to Bhutan within the end of the current fiscal year 2069/2070 B.S. while it has imported goods worth Rs. 143 million through the Mechi Customs Office, Kakadbhitta.

The Office collected Rs. 50,488 in revenue exporting the goods while it has collected Rs. 32.4 million revenue from the goods imported.
