CPN MAOIST CONFIRMS RECEIVING INVITATION FOR TALKS UPDATE

Kathmandu, 4 Aug.: CPN Maoist Secretary Dev Gurung Sunday confirmed the party has received an invitation for talks from HLPM—a mechanism of four parties supporting the government.
The mechanism met Sunday and drafted the letter meeting opposition demands.
The invite was the third and mentions 33 parties had been invited.
Guung said the front of 33 parties will meet to discuss a response
initially described as positive while expressing happiness.
Besides a roundtable conference, opposition has demanded consensus for fresh election date with a replace government and cancellation of 11-point and 25-point accords between major parties to install the Khil Raj Regmi government.
The dissolution of the JLPM has also been demanded.
The parties behind government have agreed to a roundtable conference and oclusio of opposition in the mechanism.

BIG FOUR COMMITTED TO ELECTIONS SAYS MADHAV KUMAR NEPAL

Kathmandu, 4 Aug.:: Senior leader of CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal has said fever of the second Constituent Assembly election has already gripped the
Country, RSS reports from Birgunj..

Speaking at a press meet organised by the Press Chautari Parsa chapter here today, he stressed the need of holding the election on November 19.

"The four major political parties are committed to conducting the election on the announced date, however, it can be considered if the CPN-Maoist agreed to join the election". But, the party has no clear views about the election matters, he added.

The CPN(UML) will emerge as the single largest party in the upcoming CA election, he said, claiming that the government to be formed under the leadership of the largest party will promulgate a new constitution within a year of the formation of government. We are in favour of federalism that promotes social harmony, he said.
