DETAILS OF SHANKER KOIRALA, SHARIF MEET
Kathmandu, 21 Aug.: Pakistan i Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has stressed the need of cooperation between the private sectors of Nepal and Pakistan for the promotion of energy, tourism and trade of agricultural products, RSS reports/.
During his meeting with the Nepali delegation led by Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala in Islamabad on Wednesday, the Pakistan i PM emphasised on encouraging private sectors in both the countries for mutual support and cooperation to attain development in these sectors, according to a press note issued by Minister Koirala's advisor Sanket Koirala from Islamabad.
Currently, the Nepali delegation is in Pakistan to take part in the Nepal- Pakistan ministerial-level joint meeting of the Economic Commission.
Mutual relations between the two countries is moving ahead smoothly with the political changes in both the countries, the Pakistan i PM said, expressing his hope that such relations would further consolidate and be more fruitful in the days ahead.
Recalling his earlier two visits to Nepal in the past, PM Sharif said such high-level visits would strengthen mutual relations.
Although property was nationalised during the tenure of the then PM Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in Pakistan , the governments formed after that have encouraged the private sector and therefore, there are abundant possibilities of mutual cooperation between us, said the Pakistan i PM.
The joint meeting has opened a door for mutual cooperation , said Koirala, adding people of both the countries would be benefited, if Pakistan i investment was increased in trade between the two countries.
Underlining the need of continuing bilateral trade fairs, he said although the formation of the incumbent government was for conducting election, it is focused on the country's economic development as well.
Nepali Ambassador to Pakistan Bharat Raj Poudel, Joint Secretary at the Foreign Ministry Kali Prasad Pokhrel, Joint Secretary at the Finance Ministry Madhu Kumar Marasini, Under Secretary Kailash Pokhrel, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Pradip Jung Pandey and former President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Surendra Bir Malakar were present in the meeting.

SSP THREATENS AGITATION
Kathmandu, 21 Aug.:- The Sanghiya Sadbhawana Party (SSP) has said that the election to the next Constituent Assembly (CA) should be held on November 19 as the election was the backbone of democracy, RSS reports..
The party also warned of launching agitation if the date of CA election was postponed in any pretext.
Stating that the extended meeting of the working committee of the party made the decision to the effect, Chairman of the party, Anil Jha, said that the election should be held on the stipulated date.He added that further institutional development of democracy and republic was necessary.
The party has put forth various demands including that number of seats of first-past the post and proportional should be maintained 42 and 58 respectively in the upcoming CA election and guarantee of representation of all.
Similarly, the party has demanded delineation of constituencies in Madhes on the basis of increased population, out of 240 seats of first-past the post election, 121 seats should be fixed for Madhes.
Jha said that it was necessary that the government should take special initiative to hold a free and fair election at the participation of all parties and to form a new committee at the participation of all political parties by dissolving the High-Level Political Committee. Nnnn
NEPAL CRASHES OUT OF CRICKET TOURNAMENT UPDATE
Kathmandu, 21 Aug.: Nepal Wednesday crashed out in the ACC Emerging
Teams Cup in Singapore.
It lost to Pakistan in the third group match,
Earlier it lost to Afghanistan and India losing all three encounters.
