DETAIL;S OF KOIRALA PRESIDENT MEET

Kathmandu, 3 Aug.: Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala called on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the Office of the President Saturday afternoon. After the meeting, Koirala said he informed the President about his impending India visi, RSS reports.t.

Koirala is leaving for India on a friendly visit on Sunday at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. During the meeting, the President urged Koirala to take initiative to bring the agitating parties on board the election on behalf of the High-Level Political Committee.

In response, Koirala said that effort for talks with the agitating parties is underway.

Koirala also said that there was no alternative to election on November 19 and the CA election would not be postponed at any cost.

UML’S OLI PREDICTS OPPOSITION WILL JOIN VOTE

Kathmandu, 3 Aug.: CPN (UML) leader KP Sharma Oli has said that some elements are active to foil the uug.pcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election, RSS reports from Bhaktaur.

Inaugurating the newly-constructed building of the Bangalamukhi Saving and Credit Cooperatives at Balkot-2, Oli said talks with the poll opposing parties are underway. Oli also expressed his confidence that the agitating parties would come to the election process through talks and dialogue and election would be held on consensus.

Saying that anarchy was flourishing in the country, Oli added democratic exercises should be conducted in a disciplined fashion.

The UML leader, who remained at the helm of power many times, admitted the poor people were remaining back as the state resources and employment opportunities were distributed only to the party cadres.

On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Kalinchowk Development Bank Ashok Siwakoti, Chairman of District Saving and Credit Cooperative Organizations Radhe Shyam Suwal and others said that cooperatives should be used a weapon to alleviate poverty from the country.

The cooperative has collected Rs 24 million shares during its six years of establishment, said Cooperative´s Chairman Jagat Krishna Shrestha.

He said the two and half storey building was constructed in Rs 5.5 million. The cooperative has also brought a subsidy price shop from today.

Meanwhile, at a separate programme in the capital on Saturday, the UML Leader said that the party should go to the people by correcting its past mistakes to stand victorious in the upcoming CA election.

UML central committee member Gokarna Bista said that the party should move ahead by correcting its mistake instead of pointing fingers on other political parties.

Alternative central committee member of the UML Rameshwor Phyual said that the party leaders should visit the locals´ doorsteps as per the people´s aspirations.
