CIAA ARRESTS IMMIGRATION OFFICIALS
Kathmandu, 20 Aug.: CIAA Tuesday arrested five Immigration officials
taking a bribe.
Cameras at Immigration Department caught them accepting the bribe.
Section Officers Surya Prasad Dahal and Devarsi Sapkota, non-gazette officers Pradip Prasad Lamichhane and Bishwa Raj Kharel and office assistant Jaya Narayan Napit have been arrested.

NEA MANAGING DIRECTOR ARRESTED.
Kathmandu, 20 Aug.: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing
Director Rameshwor Yadav was arrested Tuesday for his alleged
involvement in transformer procurement scam.
CIAA earlier arrested 10 senior Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA)
officials and two Chinese nationals on charges promoting corruption by supplying sub-standard transformers to the NEA.

KAMAL THAPA FOR ELECTION
Kathmandu, 20 Aug.:: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, Kamal Thapa, said the Constituent Assembly election must be held on the stipulated date, RSS reports.rss.
Addressing an interaction on 'CA election and youth students', organised by his party wing, National Democratic Students' Union, in the capital city on Tuesday, Chairman Thapa said if the CA election was not held on November 19, transition would prolong inviting further instability.
Similarly, he said the President himself needs to take initiative to bring the dissenting political parties into consensus politics.
Election with the participation of all political parties would be meaningful, he said, adding that it would help write the new constitution.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by RPP-Nepal leader Keshar Bahadur Bista, called on Chief Election Commissioner Neel Kanth Uprety and urged him to conduct the CA election in a free and fair manner.
The delegation also demanded the Chief Election Commissioner to implement the election code of conduct strictly.
