TIA FLIGHT AFFECTED BY BAGMATI, MANAHARA POLLUTION

Pollution in Bagmati and Manohara rivers have been making direct impact
on the take-off and landing at Tribhuvan International
Airport, RSS reports..
The Airport office has been facing more challenges to control the entry of different animals and birds at TIA premises. It was informed at a programme organised by the TIA Civil Aviation Office on Friday. The TIA Civil Aviation Office said that it has been compelled to stop flights sometimes due to the entry of animals at the runway and flying birds. On the occasion, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ram Kumar Shrestha, said that the government was serious to control movement of animals at TIA and to make flights safer. Minister Shrestha said the ministry has been launching programmes targeting to remove pollution in the rivers and for the management of garbage produced from surrounding areas. Similarly, Secretary at the ministry, Sushil Ghimire, said that further programmes will be launched to make the TIA safe from animals. Chief of the TIA Civil Aviation Office, Ratish Chandralal Suman, informed that airport experts of Nepal, India, Japan and Bangladesh have been participating in the seminar, and added that discussions will be held on the existing laws and international practice not to allow activities of animals in the airport |
