IMMOLATION




TIBETAN MONK DIES OF SELF-IMMOLATION
Kathmandu, 6 Aug.: I the second selif-immolation death by a
Tibetan exile, a Tibetan monk self-immolated himself at Bahudh
Tuesday and he later died.
He was admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH)
with severe burns. injuries.

Police are trying to establish his identity.

BANDH HITS EAST NEPAL

Kathmandu, 6 Aig.: The Council called the bandh in the nine districts including Dhankuta, Ilam, Panchthar and Sankhuwasabha to mark Sharwan 22 as 'black day, RSS reports from Dhankuta.'.

The Council said that as in the previous years, it called for the bandh today as a black day saying Prithivi Narayan Shah, the unifier of modern Nepal, had captured the Limbuwan area in 1831 BS.

Traffic on the Koshi Highway linking eastern hilly areas via Tarai as well as other roads has been halted from the morning due to the bandh.

Similarly, markets, educational institutions and industries remained closed due to the bandh.

Passengers have been stranded at different places including at Hile, Sidhuwa and Leguwa due to the closure of transport services.

Students, who are attending the SLC supplementary examinations have been facing problem due to the bandh.

Likewise, those who have arrived Dhankuta as well as those who are on the way to Dhankuta for the examinations of the Public Service Commission have been facing problems.

The Market Management Committee, however, has opened the Dhankuta Bazaar.

There was no effect of the banda in Dhankuta Bazaar after the Committee urged the entrepreneurs to defy the bandh.
