Bomb explodes at Parsa counting center

Kathmandu, 11 April: As Maoists established a clear lead in vote counting, a bomb exploded at a counting center in Parsa Friday.
There was no immediate report of casualties even as 1,000 police were deployed to guard the center.
RPP Chairman Pashupati SJB Rana opposed beginning of vote counting in Sindhupalchowk-3 and demanded a re-poll; Maoists prevented him from going to the district on polling day.
Nayamanman Bijukakchaya has collected 4,440 votes from a constituency in Bhaktapur also ensuring his election to establish the traditional hold of NMKP on the medieval town.
Ten parties demanded a re-poll in Saptari alleging widespread electoral malpractice.
NC Acting President Sushil Koirala is heading for defeat in Banke-3.
Tarai Madesh Loktantric Party has established a clear lead in Kapilvasthu-3.
India and USA have welcomed Thursday’s election and the result.
