Bomb explosion rocks capital, other details (BREAKING NEWS)

Kathmandu, 2 April: One person was injured in a bomb explosion at Gongabu in the capital Wednesday night , police confirmed.
Eight persons have been rushed to TU Teaching Hospital for treatment, a radio report said.
The bomb went off in front of ‘dohori sanjh’ restaurant, police said.
Three party workers were killed in a vehicular during campaigning in Nawalparasi Wednesday.
Eight persons injured, including a candidate, in the jeep accident.
Maoists expelled Congress workers from Dandeldhura Wednesday in continuing clashes; former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is also contesting from the district.
Three policemen were injured in clashes with Maoists amid lobbing of teargas shells and firing in the air Wednesday.
Police went to open a road block put by Maoists.
Election Commission (EC) said it is concerned with election-related violence in Rasuwa, Kavre and other districts and asked authorities to act against violators of an election code of conduct.
Maoists and CPN-UML workers clashed in Bara Wednesday..
The meeting was the party’s last in the capital.
In other election related news, EC disqualified 251 persons whose names were recommended in a closed list for indirect assembly elections.
They didn’t present either citizenship certificates or were below 25 years of age.
Altogether 6,000 names were presented.
Parties were obviously presenting names of foreigners in the list; RPP was the biggest violator.
Government announced a five-day public holiday from 7 April for the 10 April constituent assembly elections.
Cabinet also decided to provide one million rupees each families of two Muslim worshippers killed in the bombing of a mosque in Biratnagar during the weekend.
Government Wednesday discussed election security without deciding to deploy Nepal Army as suggested by top Congress leaders, including Sher Bahadur Deuba with increased violence.

Prachanda says Maoist defeat for USA, India

Kathmandu, 2 April: Chairman Prachanda said Wednesday the certain victory of the CPN (Maoist) in the 10 April assembly election will be a defeat for USA and India.
“The victory won’t be a defeat of the Congress or CPN-UML. It will be a defeat for USA and India,” he told the party’s last public meeting in the capital.
‘We will decide our foreign relations, not foreigners,” Prachanda said as foreigners were conspiring behind closed doors to defeat Maoists. CPN (Maoist) it will accept the people’s verdict only a free, fair and impartial election.
“We will accept such a verdict even if it goes against us,” he said.
All 15 Maoist Valley candidates were present at the Open Air Theatre public meeting.
