Nepali Congress spokesman Arjun Narsingh KC said his party has decided to stay in the opposition by boycotting a Maoist-led government.
The party will take a formal decision Wednesday, he said.
CPN-UML standing committee Tuesday decided to go for an alternative Wednesday only if four parties don’t agree to form their government Wednesday.

Nearly 108,000 refugees were forcibly expelled from Bhutanese in an ethnic cleansing policy of the Buddhist Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan nearly 18 years ago.
The excesses were ignored and overlooked by India and Western countries.
