Maoists give up demand to head special integration committee : Ram Chandra Paudel

Kathmandu, 24 Oct: Maoists Friday gave up their demand to head a special committee for the integration of Nepal and PLA, Nepali Congress Vice-President said.
Paudel said the issue was discussed at a meeting of CPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and MJF.
Paudel added his party will accept the committee leadership by any other three parties.
But Maoist Law Minister Deb Gurung said the matter was only informally discussed.
The issue could be discussed at a cabinet meeting Saturday.

Task force to study fiscal year

Kathmandu, 24 Oct: The cabinet Friday decided to set a task force to take make recommendations on an annual fiscal year.
A government task force will also be constituted to make recommendations on other calendars like the Bikram era and Romal calendar, government spokesman Krishna Bahadur Mahara said.

Govt decision to return seized arms suicidal

Kathmandu, 24 Oct: The cabinet decision to return seized weapons of the general public to owners will be suicidal, Kantipur reports.
Rebel forces in the terai will benefit directly.
The guns were collected from the people during the Maoist people’s war.
The cabinet decision was taken without consultations with police.
