Maoists, CPN-UML express grave concern at vice-presidents remarks
By Bhola B Rana
Kathmandu, 6 Nov: CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist) Thursday expressed deep concern and
grave objection at critical remarks of Vice-President Parmananda Jha who claimed government acted unconstitutionally in appointing a committee for integration of PLA and Nepal Army.
A meeting of four parties is being convened later Thursday to discuss unflattering remarks of the vice-president.
Jha said the constitution has been violated by constituting a committee without defining major political parties.
“It’s not for a party or individual to specify a national political party.
“Right now, four parties have been taken as national parties. This is a violation of the constitution,” the vice-president told reporters Wednesday.
He noted there are 25 political parties in the CA.
“The CA, the election commission or the supreme court
can define the main parties,” the controversial Jha said.
‘It’s my right to put my feelings,” he reminded journalists who questioned whether he had authority to pass judgment of powerful parties.
Jha was elected on a MJF ticket.
Jha complained he had little or no work.
“I only distribute money. You are the recipients of my personal money,” he told reporters.
