Chinese ambassador presents credentials
By Bhola B Rana
Kathmandu, 21 Nov; Chinese Ambassador Qui Guo Hong presented his credentials to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Friday three days after arriving to take up his assignment.
Qui lost no time in presenting his credentials to begin official work at a time when the exiled Tibetan leadership in India is debating whether to adopt a tougher pro-independence police for their homeland.
China has been asking Nepal, located on the southern lap of Tibet to watch and curb pro-independence Free Tibet activities in Nepal.
A Chinese military delegation led by Maj Gen Ei Hujeng is currently in Nepal as India follows the visit suspiciously.
Ei discussed military cooperation and Nepal-Tibet border issues with Deputy Prime Minister Bamdeb Gautam and Defence Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal Thursday.
China extended a Rs 100 million military assistance during Badal’s recent trip to China.
The area of grant investment hasn’t yet been identified.
