Maoists espouse tandem rebellion, integration

Kathmandu, 21 Nov: Maoists have espoused rebellion along with integration with Nepal Army in a four-page proposal of Barsha Man Pun Ananta entitled ‘A proposal on PLA’ being presented at a meeting of the CPN (Maoist) national workers Friday, Sambodhan reports.
Point five says: The PLA should be kept on high alert to meet any eventuality and under any circumstance. There should be rehearsal with political, technical and scientific training along with intellectual exercise and study to complete party strategy of revolution in rebellious manner.”
Ananta proposed the PLA should conduct regular dummy operations and be prepared militarily with exercises; the PLA should collect information, analyze and prepare plans as well.
Besides regular training at home, PLA should be sent abroad for study and training.
A facility should be opened to treat and care for injured Maoists.
In article four, Ananta proposed a formation of a suggestion committee consisting of representatives of party, PLA and specialists for integration.
He suggested he party should decide on the future of combatants disqualified by UNMIN.

No unity in Maoist; differing proposals at national meet

Kathmandu, 21 Nov: A last-minute Maoist central committee effort to present a common concept paper on a republic failed Friday, party sources said.
The central committee met Friday morning to iron out differences but failed.
Rival proposals of Prime Minister Prachanda and Organization Chief Mohan Baidya Kiran are being presented at a national meet later Friday.
