Further details on Maoist central committee meet

Kathmandu, 20 Nov: Defence Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and Communications Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara said an integrated approach should be adopted, Annapurna Post reports.
Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Post Bahadur Bogati, Pampha Bhusal and Top Bahadur Rayamajhi sided with Prachanda Wednesday.
Deb Prasad Gurung, CP Gajurel and Netra Bikram Chand sided with Mohan Baidya Kiran.
In his political report, Prime Minister Prachanda proposed a people’s republic by institutionalizing transitional republic and democratic republic.
In a differing concept, Kiran proposed an immediate people’s republic through revolt.
Prachanda faction said the peace process can’t be completed, a new constitution can’t be drafted and army integration will be delayed with immediate adoption of a people’s republic.
Baidya faction said there’s no alternative to a people’s republic and accused Prachanda faction of revisionism.
Kiran said election of CA has been completed and a new business schedule needs adoption, Rajdhani reports.
Kiran argued forces against monarchy were mobilized; the task has been completed, Rajdhani added.
Now Congress contradictions in Nepal Congress persist in ending feudalism.

Kiran said there is real danger of the party being bogged down in revisionism.

UN vehicle smashed during valley demonstrations


Kathmandu, 20 Nov: A UN vehicle was among half a dozen vehicles smashed by angry demonstrators in the Valley Thursday protesting the abduction and killing one months of two Kathmandu youth
Life in the Valley was affected for the second consecutive day.
Chabail, Baneshwor and Kakanki were affect hemost by the strike.
Police lobbed teargas shells and resorted to lathi charge to drive away protestors.
Demonstrations were reported from Hetauida and Sindhuli as well.

Petroleum prospecting hampered in terai

Kathmandu, 20 Nov: Pretroleum prospecting by British and American companies in Chitwan and Banke have been halted, Janadharana reports.
Preparation has been completed.
Indian embassy put pressure on Department of Mines and Geology.
Groups in the terai also threatened the British and American companies.
