PM returns later Friday
Kathmandu, 14 Nov: Prime Minister Prachand returns later Friday from New Delhi where he led the Nepali delegation to the second summit of BIMSTEC.
The prime minister has made four foreign visits – two to India, China and New York after assuming office.

Former king planning to break long silence: Former press secretary Pathak

Kathmandu, 14nv: After a recent family tragedy, former King Gyanendra spends most of his time away from Nagarjung, Jitendra Shah, Damodar Neupane report in Kantipur.
He returned to Nagarjung four days ago on the 13th day of the day of the death of son-in-law Abinesh Shah, 32, who died of a heart attack.
A security official said face was sad, probably because he was mourning.
Deputy former Bada Guruju Madhav Bhattarai said,” There are o signs of tension on his face; he looks just the same before moving out of Narayanhiti.”
Former King Gyanendra spends most of his time worshipping, writing a book, internet surfing and viewing scenery.
He likes Nepali spinach and jundruk [dried and fermented vegetables] and fasts one day a week; a palace official said he’s not keen on drinks days these days.
Bhattarai added: We find him busy in writing and studies.” He reads books on changes in world situation, religion and culture and writes and downloads news from internet.
He doesn’t move out frequently and smiles when returning greetings.
Former supporters of the king claim he’s preparing to return to active life and giving it active thought.
Former Press Secretary Phanindra Pathak said,” He probably won’t remain silent for long.”

Congress assembles fraternal organizations
Kathmandu, 14 Nov: A special committee of Nepali Congress has written to fraternal organizations to assemble at party headquarters to resolve internal disputes, Naya Parika reports.
The committee which is headed by central committee member Dil Bahadur Gharti sent letters of eight organizations 10 November asking compulsory presence at Sanepa from 17 to 24 November.

Six Nepalis in Pakistani jails
Kathmandu, 14 Nov: Six Nepali workers who has gone to Afghanistan seeking employment have ended up in a Pakistani jail while on their way back to Nepal after an employment agent duped them, officials said, according to The Kathmandu Post.
The six men were arrested at the international airport in Peshawar in northwestern Pakistan on June 11 as they did not have permission to enter the country.

Secret talks on Madesh in New Delhi
Kathmandu, 14 Nov: Despite official invitation to terai rebel groups for talks and in the absence of a dialogue, Prime Minister Prachanda has held talks on Madesh with top Indian political leadership, Sambodhan reports.
He held discussions with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and will met communist leaders Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechiri Thursday before flying back home.
Prachanda told Singh Maoists are the only party who have politically taken us the issue of terai and claimed others are criminal gangs with a political face;
Prachanda went to New Delhi with a request to the establishment not to help the establishment, according to a foreign department source of CPN (Maoist).
Prachanda was to ask India to put pressure on the rebels to end violence and help bring rebels into the mainstream.
Maoists believe establishment and criminal elements
are backing rebels and Prachanda went to New Delhi seeking a diplomatic solution to the terai problem.

PM inspecting Tehri dam
Kathmandu, 14 Nov: Prime Minister Prachanda flew to Dehra Dun in a special aircraft from New Delhi Friday and will also inspect the Tehri dam before returning home later in the day.
He is accompanied by Water Resources Minister Bishu Paudel and senior officials.
