TMDP to contest CA vice-chairmanship

Kathmandu, 15 Nov: Terai Madesh Loktanrik Party (TMLP) as the fifth largest party in the constituent assembly (CA), claimed the vice-chairmanship of the assembly.
Also the second largest party in the terai, TMLP said it has begun consultations and dialogue with four largest parties—the CPI (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Madesh Janaadhikar Fourm (MJA) with the announcement of the candidacy.
The name of the candidate hasn’t been announced.
The election process begins Sunday.
The party said the biggest parties shared the positions of president, vice-president, prime minister and chairmanship of the CA between them.
TMLP this week decided to stay in the opposition and has announced plans for strikes to press its agenda.

Bill prepared to book guilty for disappearances
Kathmandu, 1 Nov: The government has prepared a draft bill, which will be introduced in the ongoing legislative session of the CA, to book all those guilty of aiding and abetting disappearance during the decade-long conflict, The Himalayan Times reports.
The Ministry of Law, Justice and Constituent Assembly Affairs, the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction and the Office of the Attorney General have drafted the document—Person Disappearance (Crime and Punishment) Bill 2065.
It proposed a five-year jail term and fine up to Rs1 lack for the offender,
The co-accused will be meted out half of that sentence.

Maoist committees recommends rebellion by PLA

Kathmandu, 15Nov: Separate meetings of power state committees of the ruling CPN (Maoist) has recommended revolution through rebellion, Janmadev Jaise reports in Rajdhani.
The 11 state committees and two sub-committees are the most powerful after the central committee have mid-level 800 workers.
They have put pressure on the central committee for a popular rebellion ahead of a party central committee meeting on 17 November to be followed by a meeting of national- level workers on 20 November.
Most of the state committee members have concluded Nepal’s revolution has reached a decisive phase.
Most of the state committee members favour mass integration of the PLA with Nepal Army.
Majority members believe the proposal for revolution will be approved by the national meet.
