Another pahadi shot dead in Bara
Kathmandu, 9 Jan: Another pahadiya was shot dead Friday morning in Bara.
A security guard was abducted and shot dead near a river in the troubled southern region.
Jwala Singh group of Terai Janatantrik Morcha claimed responsibility for the latest violence.
The group is the most violent of nearly two dozen groups active in the region claiming to push regional demands.
Government says most of the groups are criminal gangs.

Tourists asked to vacate hotels
Kathmandu, 9 Jan: Hotel managers have asked hundreds of tourists in the resort town of Pokhara to leave in the peak tourist season following a forces closure by Maoist-affiliated workers demanding increased salary.
Workers have forced the closure of restaurants as well.
Hotel and restaurant workers are demanding minimum Rs 4,800 salary per month to match pay increases announced by government.
Industrial workers in the eastern region have pushed similar demands closing down nearly 500 industries.

YCL vacates Balaju Industrial Estate

Kathmandu, 9 Jan: Maoist YCL Thursday vacated government building at the Balaju Industrial Estate [BIE] it occupied during the regime of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
The occupation was tolerated by then government in which Krishna Prasad Shitaula was home minister.
The controversial minister was known for his pro-Maoist leanings and has admitted in statements th regime tolerated the occupation not to disturb the peace process.
The main opposition Nepali Congress has pushed nine demands including the return of seized assets and dissolution of YCL by Maoists now leading the government.
The Maoist move to vacate a building at BID used as YCL their headquarters comes after the governemtn led byPM Prachanda vowed to return seized assets within three months and disband YCL in three weeks to meet opposition demands.
