Britain pledges Rs 20 billion aid package

Kathmandu, 3 April: Visiting British Minister for International Development Mike Foster Thursday pledged a 172 million pound sterling aid package equivalent to Rs 20.06 million for three years beginning 2009/10.
Altogether 56 million pounds will be spent in the first two years and 60 million pounds in the third year,
“This represents an increase of 46 percent from the previous three-year plan,” a statement of said.

Supreme court orders search for missing

Kathmandu, 3 April: The supreme court Thursday the stare to search for 434 persons disappeared by the state during the people’s war.
Human Rights Organization of Nepal had filed a petition demanding the whereabouts.
A two-man bench of the court issued the verdict.

SLC exams ends

Kathmandu, 3 April: SLC exams of 2065 ended Thursday.
The exams were generally held peacefully.
