Maoist, Nepali Congress meeting

Kathmandu, 15 April: Maoist and main opposition Nepali Congress leaders held discussions Wednesday to find an agreement to run parliament smoothly.
Meetings have been disrupted since 25 March with Congress demanding a statement from Prime Minister Prachanda on nine demands including return of seized assets and curb on activities of YCL point demand
Narayan Kazi Shrestha and Dr Ram Sharan Mahat led the Maoist and Congress delegations.
Parliament is scheduled to meet Wednesday.
Maoists earlier reached agreement with CPN-UML and TMLP to run the house smoothly.

British minister holds discussions with president, prime minister

Kathmandu, 15 April: Visiting British Minister Undersecretary of State for Defence and Veterans Kevan Jones Wednesday held discussions with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav.
He is scheduled to hold discussions with Prime Minister Prachanda later Wednesday.
Jones arrived Tuesday on a five-day visit also to discuss Gurkha affairs.

Three Tanzanians expressed

Kathmandu, 15 April: Three male Tanzanians were arrested in a raid on a house in the capital Tuesday with heroin and illegal foreign currency.
Four Nepali women were among nine arrested in the raid.

Jhalanath Khanal visiting China

Kathmandu, 15 April: CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal is visiting from Saturday, party mouthpiece Budhabar reports.
He is leading a five-member team.
Vice Chairman Ashok Rai, secretary Yubaraj Geywali and central committee members Surendra Pandey and Raghuji Pant are members of the team.
They are visiting China at the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party.

Reliable commission to investigate Narayanhiti royal palace massacre

Kathmandu, 15 April: A ‘reliable commission’ will be formed to investigate the Narayanhiti royal massacre, Kantipur reports.
An agreement was reached Tuesday at a high-level meeting of a body to run government.
“The committee has suggested the government to form a reliable commission after a commitment for a probe by the prime minister, CPN-UML General Secretary Sunil Manandhar told Kantipur after the meeting.
