No possibility of baby king PM Prachanda

Kathmandu, 4 April: Prime Minister Prachanda said Saturday there’s no possibility of a baby king.
He said this as he returned home from a weeklong visit of Norway and Finland.
Another communist leader CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal also expressed similar sentiments.
The leader of a constitution drafting committee said 23 of 24 parties didn’t favour monarchy.
Nepal lost elections from two constituencies in the 10 April 2009 constituent assembly elections amid claims people are drafting a constitution.
He also didn’t contest the chairmanship of the party this month amid fears he would lose to Jhalanath Khanal who was elected th party chief.
The issue of baby king figured amid reports former King Gyanendra discussed the issue with Indian leaders during India visit.
A report said India was positive.
New Delhi helped topple monarchy earlier.
The country is in a deep political crisis amid the changes.

Parliament again adjourned until Tuesday

Kathmandu, 4 April: Parliament’s session was again adjourned Saturday until Tuesday through a notification posted on the notice board of the legislature.
PM Prachanda said after returning home consultations will be held with parties for the smooth running of the legislature.
Ruling coalition partners and main opposition Nepali Congress have opposed the behaviour of Maoists.

No discussion on a peace and friendship treaty with China: Upendra Yadav

Kathmandu, 4 April: Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav said Saturday that he won’t discuss a proposed peace and friendship between Nepal and China.
H said this as he left Saturday on a China visit.

Kathmandu, 4 April: Three persons killed in Dhanusha Saturday CPN-UML activists, the party said.
Two persons were Madeshis and one person was from the hills.
