20 Indian police personnel killed in three days

Kathmandu, 12 June: Naxalites or Indian Maoists killed 10 more police in the state of Jharkhand in two separate attacks Friday.
Ten policemen were killed in a landmine blast three days ago in the southeast Indian district taking the death toll 20.
The Naxalite attacks on policemen are linked to Nepal where New Delhi imposed the Himalayan state’s Maoists into the political mainstream.
But India refuses to negotiate with Naxalites even as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has admitted its Maoist insurgency is worse that the Kashmir separatist movement.
A clear case of double standard.

Violence in hills and terai

Kathmandu, 12 June: Maoist Magar Rashtriya Mukti Morcha anti-government and anti-president protest affected nine hill districts in the mid and far-West Friday.
Six persons, including policemen, were injured in YCL attack and stoning at district headquarters office in Dolpa.
Five policemen and 12 civilians were injured in clashes over a local dispute at Rajpur, Rautahat, Friday.
Police fired 20 rounds in the air to control the mob.

Congress elections indefinitely postponed


Kathmandu, 12 June: Election of the leader of Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader and other office bearers was postponed indefinitely.
Party election officer Ananda Prasad Dhungana made the announcement amid protests within the party that calls itself democratic.
Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel said the postponement was a conspiracy.
Election was scheduled on Sunday nearly 14 months after parliamentary elections.
All other parties in parliament have elected their parliamentary party leaders.
