Forum demands post of deputy prime minister

Kathmandu, 3 June: Kingmaker MJF Wednesday demanded post of deputy prime minister in the CPN-UML led government of Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar made the demand at a meeting with Nepal, he said.
Nepal told him the demand will be discussed with Girija Prasad Koirala for decision.
Koirala proposed his daughter Sujata will lead the Nepali Congress team in the government.

Another child killed in abandoned bomb blast

Kathmandu, 3 June: Another child was killed and three other students were injured while playing with an abandoned bomb in Kailali Tuesday.
Rajan Bohara, 10, died in the blast in a school.
The bomb was picked up from an abandoned and destroyed home nearly.
Such blasts are regular.
Bombs were abandoned during the Maoist people’s war.
De-mining operations haven’t been completed as well.

Rajan Bhattarai appointed foreign affairs advisor

Kathmandu, 3 June: Rajaan Bhattarai has been appointed foreign affairs advisor of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
He is a member of CPN-UML foreign department and a graduate of India’s Jawarlal Nehru University.

Nepal Development Bank to be liquidated

Kathmandu, 3 June: Nepal Rashtra Bank has decided to liquidate Nepal Development Bank within 15 days if satisfactory replies aren’t furnished, Kantipur reports.
A board meeting took the decision Tuesday.
“The decision is almost final because satisfactory reply isn’t expected,” a source said.
The bank with a paid-up capital of Rs 320 million has registered a Rs 670 million loss.
The liquidation will be Nepal’s first.
