More than three dozen vehicles destroyed
Kathmandu, 1 June: More than three dozen vehicles were destroyed by supporters demanding an autonomous Newa region in the Valley and adjoining districts Monday.
During the violence, journalists and their vehicles were targeted, according to the Federation of Nepalese Journalists.
The targeting was condemned.

PM Nepal calls meeting of 22 parties
Kathmandu, 1 June: Amid delay in expanding his three member government, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal called a meeting of 22 political parties Tuesday to finalize a 50-pointcommon minimum programme and the expansion of government.
Four biggest parties will meet ahead of the 22-party meeting.
Government expansion has been delayed fore more than one week.
Nepali Congress leaders said Monday it will announce government team only after ministries are allocated to it.
MJF is still not decided on its leader of the government team.
There was first difference whether the kingmaker should join government with Chairman Upendra Yadav supporting ousted Maoists.

Nepal government to extend tenure if eight brigadiers
Kathmandu, 1 June: Nepal’s first woman defence minister Bidya Bhandari said the Madhav Kumar Nepal government will extend the tenure of eight brigadier generals disapproved by the outgoing Maoist-led government of PM Prachanda.
Bhandari told this to reporters Monday after a meeting with Army Chief gen Rukmangud Katawal.
She said the government will soon take a formal decision.
Nepal Army had asked the Prachanda to extend their tenures by another three years.
