Diarrhea death toll up in Jajarkot, Rukum

Kathmandu, 24 July: Diarrhea death toll has jumped in the worst affected mid-West districts of Jajarkot and Rukum, health officials said.
The toll jumped to 132 in Jajarkot and 35 in neighbouring Rukum.
More than 12,000 patients have been treated there.

Switzerland opening embassy

Kathmandu, 24 July; Switzerland is opening an embassy in Nepal from
17 August, the foreign ministry said.
Thomas Gras has been appointed the first residential ambassador.
Switzerland only had a consular and a development office.

Kathmandu, 24 July; The dead body of Nepali Congress student leader
Subash Barnawal, 35, was found at Ramnagar, Banke, Thursday.
He was hacked to death by an unknown group Wednesday while returning home on a motorcycle.

Two killed in Nawalparasi bus accident

Kathmandu, 24 July; Two persons were killed and 20 others were injured when an Indian passenger bus veered off a road at Gaidakot in Nawalparasi Friday morning,
An Indian woman died while undergoing treatment for injuries.
The bus was returning home from the capital.

Kathmandu, 24 July: National Sports Council (NSC) member secretary Jiban Ram Shrestha, a CPN-UML appointed, resigned Thursday.
Shrestha submitted his resignation to Sports Minister Ganesh Nepal of TMLP.

Dragonair to increase flights

Kathmandu, 24 July: Dragonair will increase flights between Hong and Kathmandu from three to five a week from 1 October, the airline announced.
The flights will be operated by A330.
