Govt. preparing to invite armed groups for dialogue
Kathmandu, 12 July: Government is preparing underground rebel groups in the terai and the eastern hill region for talks, Rajdhani reports.
Government will crackdown in criminal groups rejecting talks after identifying them under a unified security system.
According to home ministry source, a simultaneous strategy of dialogue and armed action is being developed.
Home Minister Bhim Rawal has ordered Nepal Police to identify political and criminal groups. Police has identified 122 groups.
Meanwhile, Communication Minister Shanker Pokhrel said Saturday government isn’t ready for talks with all armed groups and added dialogue will be conducted only political groups.

Nepali youth dies in Dallas
Kathmandu, 12 July: Gopal Khanal. 20, of Nawalparasi died in Dallas, Texas, while undergoing treatment for dead injuries during a swimming pool accident, friends said.
The accident occurred at a swimming pool complex of Khanal’s apartment.
Funeral was scheduled for Saturday.

Joint inspection of Kosi barrage by Nepal, India
Kathmandu, 12 July: Nepali and Indian teams Sunday jointly inspected damage and repair and reconstruction of Kosi barrage and embankments and spurs along the river.
Teams were led by Water Resource Minister Bal Krishna Khand of Nepal and his Indian counterpart Pawan Kumar Bansal.
Teams collected suggestions from locals.
Bansal returns home Sunday after a two-day visit.

Rival groups of MJF invited by election commission
Kathmandu, 12 July: Two factions of MJF were invited for talks by the Election Commission Sunday to determine the status of the rivals that split last month.
The Gachedhar faction claimed the party flag with 18 signatures of central committee members.
The party with majority central committee members will get official recognition.
MJF is terai’s biggest political party.
