Relief for govt.

Kathmandu, 2 Nov: A government probe committee formed to look into the causes of diarrhea outbreak in the mid and far-West gave a clean chit to UN WFP Sunday, The Himalayan Times reports.
‘The foodstuff distributed by the WFP was fit for consumption.” it said.
But a National Human Rights Commission report said the foodstuff was sub-standard without saying the epidemic that claimed more than 650 lives caused the epidemic during the monsoon.

Tourist arrivals up

Kathmandu, 2 Nov: Tourist arrivals jumped 10.8 percent in October compared to the same month the previous year, Tourism officials said.
Altogether 56,008 visitors arrived by air in October,

Canada to establish embassy

Kathmandu, 2 Nov: Canada is opening an embassy in Nepal soon, an aide to the prime minister said, according to Nepal Samacharpatra.
A senior Canadian diplomat said this at a meeting Sunday with Prime Minister MadhavKumar Nepal..
Nepal is for the first time opening an embassy in Canada and an ambassador has already been appointed.
Sweden is also opening an embassy in the Nepalese capital soon, a diplomat said.
