Chinese military assistance

Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: China is extending a 20.8 million yuan military assistance to Nepal.
An agreement for the supply of equipment to Nepal Army and construction of friendship buildings is being signed later Wednesday.
Altogether 20 million will fund purchase of military supplies while the remaining will go for building construction.
The aid package was announced when visiting Chinese military headed by a major general held discussions Wednesday with Defence Minister Bidya Bhandari.
Visiting Army Chief Gen Chatraman Singh Gurung Tuesday also held discussions with Foreign Minister S.M.Krishna, National Security Advisor MK Narayan and Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao in New Delhi as well.
Gen Gurung will hold discussions with the Chinese team on his return from India.
