EU team meets Prachanda

Kathmandu, 3 Dec.: A EU delegation held discussions with Chairman Prachanda Thursday.
The delegation asked Prachanda to end a prolonged political impasse.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal Thursday asked Maoists in Ilam not to make unilateral announcements on 13 autonomous federal republics—a serious issue.
The regions should be declared through consensus, he suggested.

UML politburo meet extended


Kathmandu, 3 Dec.: A politburo meeting of the UML, leading the government, has been extended by one week until10 December.
Debate on the political report of Chairman Jhanalnath Khanal ended Thursday.
Supporters of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and KP Sharma Oli, a critic of Maoists, criticized the report which suggested a change or reshuffle in government to accommodate Maoists for concluding the peace process and drafting a new constitution.
