PM Nepal at Syangboche (DEVELOPING STORY)

Kathmandu, 4 Dec: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal flew into Sayangboche en route to Kalapattar for Friday’s cabinet meeting next to Mount Everest to highlight the adverse impact of climate change on the Himalaya.
The government chief flew into Syangboche at 7.40 [01.20 GMT]from Lukla where they spent the night Thursday.
The exercise has be dangerous with possibility of developing fatal altitude sickness without acclimatizing to the rarefied air.
The premier and 23 cabinet colleagues will have a medical check-up at Syangboche before proceeding by helicopter to Kalapattar for a 20-minute cabinet meet—the highest point where a cabinet has met anywhere in the world.
The meeting is being ahead of the Denmark UN climate change conference where Nepal has been allotted three minutes to present its views.
PM Nepal flies there to lead the Nepali delegation.
Sherpa mountain guides are on the stand-by for rescue in case of emergency with doctors on alert.
